The owner and operator of Isabela's Bar Cuba in the quaint historic town of Saint Augustine, Florida, is Isabela Alonso herself. Her family has lived here for nearly 40 years but her story starts in a small town in Cuba.

Born in San Antonio de los Banos, Cuba, Isabela was surrounded by fields of tobacco. As a young girl her aunts and uncles taught her how to choose the perfect tobacco leaves for rolling cigars. She worked with them hanging the tobacco leaves to be cured and aged in the smoke houses. One of her fondest memories as a child was watching her mother holding her younger brother in one hand and rolling a cigar on the kitchen table with the other. Isabela has many wonderful memories of her youth in Cuba where her family lived and thrived from the cigar industry. These nostalgic memories have inspired the love and passion for cigars that she shares everyday with her customers when they walk in.

Isabela's was established as a boutique in 1983, where Isabela created wear-able art. After many successful years, in 2007 Isabela reinvented the business as a cigar and wine shop. This led to Bar Cuba in 2011, where you can enjoy your favorite cigar with a beer, wine, or port in a comfortable relaxing atmosphere in the heart of Saint Augustine’s historic district.
